Some exams may require certain preparations. These details are available on the back of your referral form or can be found on our website. 

You may be asked to change or adjust your clothing and have towels tucked in as needed. Please wear loose-fitting clothing to allow convenient access to the area being examined. The technologist will take images of the region specified by your healthcare provider by applying gel and positioning the ultrasound camera to obtain images. Throughout the procedure the images will be stored and later reviewed by the radiologist.

The radiologist will carefully review all images and prepare a report, which will then be sent to your referring physician.

If you are feeling unwell, we kindly ask that you postpone your exam and contact us to reschedule. Additionally, please inform us in advance if you have any health conditions that may require our team to wear additional protective equipment (e.g., infections, viruses, shingles, MRSA). We inquire about this to help ensure the safety and well-being of all our patients, including pregnant individuals who are more susceptible to certain illnesses. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Patients should be able to transfer to the bed with minimal assistance. For safety reasons, technologists are not authorized to lift patients. If a patient requires additional support to get onto the bed, we kindly ask that you have a support person available to assist with the transfer.

In most cases, the exam can still be performed effectively despite the presence of casts, dressings, or surgical materials. However, certain limitations may apply. Kindly be aware that dressing materials are not provided by us, and it will be the patient’s responsibility to remove and reapply bandages as needed for the exam.
