Milestones Diagnostics and Wellness respectfully honours and acknowledges that the land where we gather is in Treaty Six territory. We thank the diverse Indigenous Peoples who have called this territory home for centuries, including the many generations of Indigenous midwives who helped families welcome and farewell their babies on this land, especially those of the Papaschase Band, who originally inhabited Amiskwaciy Waskahikan (the place also called Edmonton). Through this land acknowledgement, we reflect on the impacts of colonialism, historically and currently, knowing that only through learning can we move forward in truth and reconciliation, and to a better peaceful future together.
